Description
The barn at Ingfield Farm, located immediately west of Ings Cottage, is a Grade II* listed structure that likely dates back to the 16th century. It is constructed of thinly-coursed dry rubble and features a stone slate roof. The barn has five internal bays and includes quoins. There is a square-headed cart entry in the second bay and a square pitch-hole to the right. A small outshut is present at the rear of the first bay. Inside, the barn boasts four cruck trusses with extended tie-beams, thick collars at the apex, a diagonally-set ridge piece, and reverse-curved braces connecting the blades to the purlins in line with the trusses. The wall plates are supported on the tie-beams.
