Description
This is a wall, railings, and lamp standards located approximately 3 metres north of St Olave's Church in York, likely built in the mid-19th century. The wall is made of red-brown brick arranged in random bond with stone coping and stands about 1.5 metres high. The railings are made of cast iron, featuring square section bars set diagonally with arrowhead tips, while the octagonal lamp standards have tall conical finials. The lamp standards are fluted Doric columns on high square pedestals, topped with swan-necked brackets that hold circular lamps, one of which is original. This structure is included for its group value as an integral part of St Olave's Church.
