Description
The railings, gate piers, and gates located approximately 10 meters to the south-east of the Unitarian Chapel in York were built in 1851 by John Walker of the Walker Foundry in Walmgate. They form the south-eastern boundary of the churchyard of St Saviourgate Unitarian Chapel. The wall is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features stone coping, standing about 0.5 meters high with a cambered top. The gate piers are square in shape with shallow pyramidal caps and include crossed bars separated by Greek key bands. The railings have pointed tips, standards with mace-head finials, and gate stiles adorned with anthemion finials.
