Description
Four houses, numbers 4 to 7, built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of brick with painted stone dressings and have slate roofs. Each house is two storeys high with a basement. They each have two bays. To the left of each house is a canted bay window on the ground floor, topped with a modillioned cornice and a brick base which contains basement windows. The sashes in these bay windows are mostly without glazing bars, although the upper sashes in number 4 have small panes of coloured glass. A sill band runs across the first-floor windows, which are sashed; those in numbers 4 and 5 are without glazing bars, while those in numbers 6 and 7 are divided into square panes, four over four. To the right of each house is a doorcase with a mutuled cornice and pilasters that have sunken panels. The doors are four-panelled with overlights. The gutters are supported by rectangular timber brackets. Chimneys are located between the houses. The interior of the houses has not been inspected. The garden front walls are of brick with stone copings. Numbers 4 and 5 have cast-iron railings, gateposts, and gates. Numbers 6 and 7 have low walls without railings but have cast-iron gates and gateposts, with one gatepost to each house truncated. Return walls with railings separate the gardens of numbers 5 and 6, and of numbers 7 and 8.
