Description

Four houses stand consecutively, with attached walls and railings, built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of brick, with painted stone dressings. They have slate roofs. Each house is two storeys high with attics and basements, and each has two bays. The sash windows are divided into square panes, with a typical pattern of 4 over 4. A sill band runs along the first-floor windows. Cellar windows are mostly glazing bar sashes. Dormer windows with shaped and pierced bargeboards are present in the attics of numbers 9, 10, and 11. Each house features a pilaster doorcase in the right-hand bay and a four-panel door with overlight. The pilasters for numbers 8 and 9 have sunken panels, and their overlights have margin panes. Brick garden front walls with stone copings support railings with cast finials; walls between the gardens of numbers 9 and 10, and numbers 11 and 12, also carry iron railings. Each house has an iron gate and iron gateposts topped with ball finials. The interiors have not been inspected.
