Description
The walls, railings, and gates for numbers 27 to 49 (odd) on Grove Terrace date back to around 1824, with some later alterations. The walls are made of brick and feature stone and concrete copings. The railings and gates are made of cast iron. Low brick walls line the pavement, topped with copings and iron railings that have bulb finials. Number 33 has new railings and no gate, while numbers 45 and 47 have brick walls without railings and 20th-century gates. Numbers 27, 29, 31, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, and 49 have iron gates with turned cast-iron gateposts topped with ball finials. Some railings that separate the gardens are either missing or have been replaced, but similar railings to those at the front still exist between numbers 29 and 31, 33 and 35, 39 and 41, and 41 and 43.
