Description
Numbers 19 to 25 form a group of seven terraced houses built in the mid-19th century as part of a curved development. The houses are constructed of brick with painted stone dressings, and have slate roofs. They are each three storeys high, with an additional attic storey to some. Each house has two bays, with a first-floor sill band and a gutter supported by rectangular brackets. The windows are generally sash windows, although the first-floor windows of number 23 and the second-floor windows of numbers 22, 23, and 24 are glazing bar sashes. Each house features a single-storey canted bay window to the left, topped with a modillioned cornice, and to the right, a doorcase with panelled pilasters, panelled reveals, a modillioned cornice, a four-panel door, and a plain rectangular overlight. Numbers 21, 20, and 19 have gabled attic dormers. Chimneys are positioned in front of the ridge to the left and right of each house. The interiors have not been inspected. The gardens are enclosed by low brick walls with stone copings. Numbers 20, 21 and 24 have cast-iron gates and gateposts. Number 19 has a low iron gate and posts, while number 25 has an iron gatepost and a truncated post. Iron railings with cast spear finials line the front and side walls of number 25, and also the front wall of number 24. The front wall of number 22 features a widened entrance with brick piers.
