Description

This is a house dating from 1848-9, built of ashlar stone with brick chimneys and a slate roof. It is two bays wide and three storeys high. The ground-floor windows are glazing bar sashes with moulded semicircular heads, supported by a moulded impost band. Above them, first-floor casement windows have cornices and lugged architraves, and open onto a stone balcony with decorative cast-iron railings featuring anthemion motifs. The second-floor windows are glazing bar sashes with architraves and a moulded sill band. The left-hand doorway has a moulded semicircular head, a fanlight, and a panelled door. Flanking the doorway are pilasters with sunken panels and console brackets supporting a cornice hood, which connects with the window impost band. A moulded stone gutter cornice runs around the building. Chimneys are located on the right-hand gable and shared at the left. The interior has not been inspected.
