Description

88 High Street is a late 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall, constructed of brick with a pantile roof and a diagonal-set brick eaves cornice. The façade features three windows, with the centre window blocked. The windows are hung sashes with glazing bars, although one ground floor window has modern glazing bars. A rusticated lintel with a keystone is present above the windows. The left-hand side has a shop front with plain pilasters and a modillion cornice. The central doorway is flanked by pilasters and has a hood supported by brackets. The door consists of six panels, four of which are glazed, and there is a rectangular fanlight above it. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 84 to 96 on the same street.
