Description

1, Soutergate is an 18th-century building of two storeys. It is rough-rendered, with a pantile roof and stacks at the gable ends. The building has a diagonal-set brick eaves cornice, rusticated quoins, and a rendered plinth with an inset foot scraper. The brick coped gable ends are now rendered. There are three windows on the upper floor; the two outer windows are modern three-light casements, while the central window is narrower, with hung sashes and glazing bars in a narrow surround. The two ground floor windows are modern three-light casements. A plain modern door is set within a plain surround. The building is included as part of a group value context with Nos 1 and 5, Soutergate.
