Description

The Church of St Mary is a Grade I listed building located in Barton Under Humber. It features a combination of Norman and Early English architectural styles, with a nave and aisles, a chancel, a west tower, and a south porch. The lower part of the tower and the north aisle arcade are Norman, while the rest of the church is predominantly Early English. It includes 14th and 15th century windows, 14th century pinnacles, and a 15th century roof in the south chapel. The church also has medieval window glass that was assembled in the 17th century, as well as a sedile and piscinae. There are chancel monuments dating from 1626 and 1729. The porch was restored in 1938. The Church of St Mary, along with Nos 26 to 36 (even), forms a group, with No 30 being of local interest only.
