Description

Nos 55 and 57 Whitecross Street date from the early 19th century. They comprise a two-storey building with a brick façade and originally seven windows, two of which are now blocked. The ground floor windows are generally hung sashes with glazing bars, although the two windows at No. 55 are different. The building has modern doors with rectangular fanlights, all set beneath stucco lintels. The buildings are listed as part of a group that also includes No. 2, Nos. 8 to 20 (even), and the premises formerly occupied by Leavers Warehouse (Nos. 12 and associated buildings), which are of local interest.
