Description

The Wheatsheaf Hotel is a building from the 18th century located on the south side of Holydyke. It features a front elevation that is two storeys high, constructed from whitewashed brick with a pantile roof. The right-hand section of the building is rendered and has rusticated quoins. It contains one window with hung sashes and glazing bars, along with a one-storey extension. The left-hand section has two canted bays on the first floor and two windows on the ground floor, both featuring rusticated lintels with keystones and hung sashes with glazing bars. The door has six fielded panels and a similar lintel. The Wheatsheaf Hotel is part of a group with the southern elevation of the George Hotel on George Street.
