Description

This is a letter box located outside number 40 on High Street in Kingston upon Hull, dating from around 1850. It is made of cast iron and features a circular design with a deep moulded base. The front face has a curved door that includes a panel displaying collection times and the "VR" monogram. There is a slit for letters above the door, with the word "Post" to the left and "Office" to the right. The top of the letter box is shallowly domed and slightly projects outward.
