Description
This is a wall-mounted letter box from the later 19th century, made by the Smith and Hawkes foundry in Birmingham. It is set into the rubble wall of 29 Dean Path, which has a separate listing. The letter box is made of cast iron and painted in Post Office red. It features a standard rectangular design with a flap at the top, embossed with a crown and the initials VR above. Below this, there is a raised fielded panel that includes an integrated handle and keyhole.
