Description
37A and 37B on High Street are two warehouses built in 1829 and restored in the late 20th century. They are constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and feature slate roofs, rising to four storeys.
The street front has five windows, with a rendered plinth and a parapet that has ashlar coping. There are central taking-in doorways for the lower three floors, each with double plank doors. The ground floor includes two windows on the left and one on the right, followed by an elliptical-arched cart entrance that has voussoirs and a pair of close-boarded doors. The first and second floors each have two windows on either side, while the third floor has five windows. Below the central window is an oval ashlar plaque, and there are round cast-iron wall ties dated 1829.
On the river front, there are three windows with an ashlar-coped gable and kneelers. Each floor has central taking-in doorways, with double doors on the ground floor. The upper floors are obscured by a projecting wooden-framed hoist housing with a gabled roof, clad in corrugated sheeting. Each side has single windows on every floor, and above the gable is another ashlar plaque.
