Description
The barn at Ocean View Farm, dated 1772, is a two-storey structure built from red brick with a pantiled roof. It features four bays and has opposing entrances in the second bay from the right. The barn has a brick plinth and boarded doors that sit beneath round relieving arches, with a round-headed door located on the rear wall of the right bay. Each bay contains two ventilation slits, and at the upper level, ventilation holes form the numeral "1" for each bay. The gable ends have ventilation slits on the ground floor and taking-in doors at the upper level. The barn is topped with a stepped brick eaves cornice that has projections at bay intervals, and the raised gables are finished with tumbled-in brick and kneelers. Inside, the barn features a tie-beam roof with principal rafters that have collars, two levels of purlins, and tusked and tenoned joints.
