Description

Flamborough Castle is a castle dating from the mid-14th century. It is constructed from coursed squared chalk rubble, with some areas patched in red brick. Originally rectangular in plan, only three sides of the structure now remain. The east elevation features an altered doorway with plain jambs and a square head. Internally, the castle retains putlog holes and chamfered springers for a barrel-vaulted basement. The site is designated a scheduled ancient monument.
