Description
The Vicarage is a vicarage built in 1843. It is constructed of light brown brick with stone dressings, featuring a timber eaves cornice and a slate roof. The building has a central direct entry and a square plan, with outshuts to the left and rear. It is two storeys high and has three bays, with a symmetrical elevation where the centre bay is recessed. The entrance consists of a six-panel door with an oblong fanlight in a plain surround. The ground floor has 16-pane sash windows with stone sills and lintels set under arched recesses, along with a brick lintel band. On the first floor, there are 12-pane unequal sashes in the side bays and a 9-pane unequal sash in the centre bay. The deep eaves are supported by shaped brackets, and the hipped roofs feature valley stacks. Inside, the vicarage retains panelled doors, a cut string stair with panelled tread-ends, and slender turned balusters that support the handrail. The building is included partly for its group value context.
