Description
No. 16, East Street is a house located in Dalton Holme, Holme on the Wold, dating from the early 18th century, though it may have earlier origins. The building is constructed of red brick and features a Roman tile roof. It is a single storey with an attic and has four bays.
The entrance is on the left, consisting of a 20th-century boarded and glazed door, which is flanked by a 16-pane sash window to the left and three 16-pane sashes to the right, all set under flat gauged brick arches. There is a cogged brick band above the windows. The attic features four 3-light sliding sashes with glazing bars in swept dormers.
Additional architectural details include a dentilled brick eaves cornice, end and axial stacks, and tumbled-in brick on the raised gables supported by brick kneelers. A wall posting box is located at the extreme right of the building.
