Description
No. 58 is a house located on Main Street, dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later additions from the late 18th and 19th centuries, and a 20th-century porch. The building is constructed of red brick that has been colour-washed, topped with a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys high and features five bays, with the two left bays projecting and a porch beneath a lean-to roof in the re-entrant angle. The entrance consists of a four-panel door flanked by 16-pane sash windows, although the window on the extreme left has been blocked. There is a first-floor band across the three right bays. On the first floor, there are two 9-pane unequal sashes with sills under flat brick arches to the left, and three similar 12-pane sashes to the right. The left two bays have a stepped brick eaves cornice, while the raised gables to the left are finished with tumbled-in brick, and the right side features plain close verges, with end and axial stacks.
