Description

The White House and the barn adjoining to the right are located on North Ferriby High Street and date from the mid to late 18th century, with the barn likely built shortly after the house. The eaves of the barn have been raised, and the house was extended in the 19th century. The house is constructed of red brick, which has been colour-washed, and features pantiled roofs. Originally, the house was two storeys high with three bays and a symmetrical facade, but it later received a two-storey, single-bay extension on the left side. The entrance includes a four-panel door with an overlight, set within a 19th-century pilastered doorcase, and is flanked by 6-pane sash windows with sills beneath cambered wedge lintels. On the first floor, there are two smaller windows of the same design on either side of a blank opening above the door. The extension on the left has sliding sash windows with glazing bars and sills under cambered wedge lintels on both the ground and first floors. The house features plain close verges on the left and a raised gable on the right, along with end and axial stacks. The barn is two storeys high and has two bays. Its ground floor includes two small square ventilation holes, while the first floor has two two-light openings fitted with herringbone louvres. The barn also has plain close verges.
