Description
Low Farmhouse is a house and adjoining barn dating from the late 18th century, consisting of two builds with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble, with brick at the rear of the barn, and features a pantile roof and brick stacks. The barn is located to the left, while the house is to the right. The house has a central hallway entrance plan and is 1½ rooms deep, standing two storeys high with a symmetrical facade that includes two first-floor windows. The entrance features a 20th-century half-glazed door, flanked by a 3-light Yorkshire sash window on the left and a 20th-century casement window on the right. On the first floor, there is a 3-light Yorkshire sash window to the left and a casement window to the right, with stone sills and lintels throughout. The barn has three first-floor fixed windows with four panes each, supported by wooden lintels. The rear of the barn is constructed of brick and includes a cart entrance. Two brick piers support the first floor, which features a pitching door to the left and two four-pane fixed windows to the right.
