Description
Moorings is a house that likely dates from the 17th century, with earlier origins and a 19th-century attached byre. It features a cruck frame and is constructed from limestone and sandstone rubble, topped with thatched and pantile roofs, along with brick and stone stacks. The building has a three-cell hearth-passage entry plan, with the byre located to the left. It is one storey tall with an attic. The entrance includes a 20th-century half-glazed door, flanked by three casements on the left and one on the right, all set under stone lintels. The thatched roof has a ridge stack to the left of the passage and a stack at the right end. The byre contains one two-light Yorkshire sash window with a wooden lintel and has a pantile roof. Inside the house, there is a pair of full crucks and a pair of half crucks.
