Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with possible earlier origins, and altered in the 20th century. The house has a cruck frame and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with a thatched roof. Pantiles cover the extensions, and there are 20th-century brick stacks. Originally a 2-room plan, the location of the original entrance has been obscured by later alterations. A 20th-century lean-to porch and extension have been added to the right side. The house is single-storey with an attic. There are two 2-light casements with 20th-century stone sills and lintels. The porch features a 4-pane casement and a 4-panel door. End stacks are visible on the main house. The extension is not of particular architectural interest and the property is included on the list partly due to its group value.
