Description
Cliff Cottage is a house that likely dates from the 17th century, with earlier origins and 19th-century alterations. It features a cruck frame and is constructed from whitewashed limestone rubble, with a later brick addition on the right side. The cottage has a thatched roof and brick stacks. It follows a 3-room hearth-passage longhouse plan, with a former byre on the left and living accommodation on the right. The building is one storey with an attic. The entrance has a board door and a 3-light Yorkshire sash window, with a small 20th-century window to the left. To the right, there is a 4-pane fire-window and two 2-light Yorkshire sashes. A 2-light Yorkshire sash half dormer is located above the extreme right-hand window, and there are ridge stacks. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to contain a heck and a salt box by the inglenook.
