Description
Middle Farmhouse is a former house and adjoining granary, now functioning as a house, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a pantile roof and brick stacks. The building likely originally featured a two-room hearth-passage plan with a continuous rear outshut and an outshut on the left gable end. The dwelling has been extended into the former granary, and an extra storey has been added at one end of the outshut, creating a gabled cross wing. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three first-floor windows. The entrance features a 20th-century half-glazed door, which is flanked by one casement window on the left and two casement windows on the right, with an additional half-glazed door at the extreme right. The first floor includes three-light and two-light Yorkshire sashes. The roof is swept, with a stack at the left end and a ridge stack.
