Description
This is a late 18th-century house, dated 1758 as inscribed on the lintel. It is located on the south side of High Street, North Ferriby. The house is constructed of brick, with roughcast and colour-washed surfaces, and has a pantiled roof. A rebuilt chimney stack is of yellow brick. The building follows a central lobby-entry plan and has a three-window front, arranged over two storeys. It features rusticated quoins and a plinth. A glazed and panelled front door, set in a painted rusticated surround, is flanked to the right by a two-light casement window with glazing bars, also within a similar surround. A 20th-century shop front is located to the left, and an inserted glazed door is at the extreme left. On the first floor, there is a blank opening above the door, flanked by sliding sash windows with glazing bars, all contained within painted rusticated surrounds. The eaves are bracketed and sprocketed. A raised gable is present to the right, while the left side has plain, close verges. An axial stack is also visible.
