Description
No. 16 Main Street is a house that likely dates from the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond and has a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with an outshut at the rear. The central entrance features a six-fielded-panel door with a fanlight, set within a semicircular-headed surround. This is adorned with a doorcase that includes engaged fluted Doric pilasters with dosserets and an open segmental modillioned pediment. The windows are 16-pane sashes, all positioned under flat brick arches. The house has three paired gutter brackets and one single gutter bracket, along with end stacks.
