Description

No. 23 Main Street is a house, likely built in the mid to late 18th century, with later additions and alterations. It features pinkish-orange brick and a pantile roof. The building has a three-cell, lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys tall with three bays. The entrance, located off-centre, consists of a four-panel door set under a cambered head, which is interrupted by a 20th-century porch. The windows are a mix of casement types and 8-pane Yorkshire sashes, with those in the right bay placed under segmental heads, some also featuring 20th-century segmental arches. The house has a dentil eaves band, brick coping on the gables, a ridge stack, and tumbled-in brickwork on the gable end.
