Description
Granary Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, built in two phases with later additions and alterations, including an outshut at the rear. The structure is made of pinkish-brown brick and features a red plain-tile roof. It has an original three-cell, lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys high with four bays. The entrance, which is off-centre, consists of a 20th-century six-panel door set beneath a cambered head, while the original entrance has been blocked. The cottage has casement windows throughout, with some on the ground floor also set under cambered heads. Notable architectural details include a two-course band at the first floor, a dentil eaves band, and chimney stacks at the ridge and ends. The gable end displays tumbled-in brickwork, and there is a catslide roof at the rear.
