Description

No. 20 on Main Street is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick and has a pantile roof. The building features a three-cell, lobby-entry plan with a range at the rear. It stands two storeys high and has three windows on the first floor. The entrance is off-centre and is accessed through a 20th-century porch that includes a 20th-century panelled door. The windows on the ground floor are four long-pane Yorkshire sashes set in reveals under cambered arches, which interrupt the stepped four-course band on the first floor. There are additional inserted Yorkshire sashes above. A blocked fire window is partly hidden by the porch. The roof is swept and hipped to the left, with an end and ridge stack.
