Description
No. 51 on Main Street is a house that has been converted into a house and shop. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of pinkish-brown brick and features a pantile roof. It stands two storeys high and has three windows on the first floor. The entrances, located at the center and off-center, consist of plain doors from the 20th century. The windows throughout include casement styles and four-pane Yorkshire sashes. The ground floor openings are set under elliptical arches, and there is a stepped three-course band at the first floor level, along with an eaves band. The roof is swept, and there is a ridge stack. The gable ends display tumbled-in brickwork, and there is a blocked pitching door on the left gable.
