Description

This is a late 18th-century house located on the north side of Main Street, Wheldrake. It is a single-story, two-cell building constructed of pinkish-brown brick and topped with a pantile roof. The central entrance is a 20th-century partially glazed door. There are four-pane Yorkshire sash windows, all set beneath cambered heads. Brick end stacks are present. A mark related to the Sun Fire Company is visible on the building. It is reputed to have been a resting place for coffin-bearers travelling to the church, and is included on the heritage list for its group value.
