Description

No. 70 Main Street is a house dating from the late 18th century, with later additions and alterations. It features pinkish-brown brick with ashlar dressings and a pantile roof. The building has a double-depth plan and is two storeys high, with two first-floor windows. The entrance is on the end and consists of a 20th-century six-panel door with an overlight, set beneath a flat arch made of gauged brick. To the right, there is a carriage arch with an elliptical shape, also made of gauged brick, featuring an ashlar keystone and imposts. The windows throughout are late 20th-century twelve-pane sashes, placed under flat arches of gauged brick. A three-course band runs along the first floor, and there is a stack at the end of the building.
