Description

  1. 5268 MARKET PLACE (West Side) Coverley House TA 1768 11/31 7.9.51. II GV 2. Late C18. 3 storeys in brick with rusticated stone quoins. Pantile roof with stacks at gable ends. 3 windows, hung sashes with glazing bars (replaced), wood cases, painted lintels to 1st floor and to 2 windows to ground floor. Doorcase of fluted pilasters, capitals and frieze, semi-circular fanlight, panelled soffit and Jambs. Early to mid C19 eaves cornice on paired modillions. Tuscan portico has plain frieze and cornice on similar paired modillions. Plinth. 4 steps.

No 1 forms a group with No 5, Nos 7 to 10 (consec), Nos 12 to 23 (consec) and No 23A. No 5 is of local interest.
