Description

This milestone, located approximately 50 metres north of Daytona, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is made of limestone and features a stepped, rectangular design. The taller section has worn inscriptions, with the west side reading "VI MIL(ES)" and the east side being illegible. An Ordnance Survey datum mark is inscribed on the south side. The distance indicated is from Hull on the road to Hedon via Bilton. This milestone is also shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 1 inch map from 1824.
