Description
Wyton Abbey is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features pantiled roofs. The building has three storeys and five bays arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern. The entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight, set within a late 19th-century pilastered doorcase that has a dentilled cornice. The windows are sashes with glazing bars and sills, positioned under flat gauged brick arches with raised keyblocks. There is a band at the first floor, and the second floor has similar six-pane sashes with sills under flat gauged brick arches with raised keyblocks. The building is topped with a modillion eaves cornice, has axial stacks, and a hipped roof. Inside, there is a closed-string staircase featuring turned balusters and a moulded handrail.
