Description

Bidston Windmill is a late 18th-century windmill located on Vyner Road North in Birkenhead. The windmill features a circular tapering tower with roughcast render, likely applied over stone, and is topped with a boarded cap and sails. There is a doorway to the tower that has a lintel inscribed with "Restored A.D. 1894". The windmill underwent restoration in the late 19th century and again in 1971. In 1909, the Corporation of Birkenhead acquired the windmill along with the surrounding land.
