Description

This is a tower windmill, dating to 1813, which has been converted into a house. It is located on Moor Lane, Crosby. The windmill is constructed of brick, now rendered and painted white, with an iron deck. It has a circular plan and tapers upwards over six storeys. There are four small rectangular windows on each upper floor. A circular deck is located around the second level, and a datestone above it on the east side is lettered "B / W . C / 1813". The roof is domed, now with metal cladding, and the stump of the sails remains on the south side. Single-storey additions are present at ground floor level. The interior has not been inspected.
