Description
28 and 30 Moor Lane are a pair of small houses built in the mid-19th century, which have been altered over time. They feature roughcast render with sandstone dressings, all painted white at the front, and have a slate roof with stone gable copings. Each house has a double-depth plan and is single-fronted, standing two storeys high with a symmetrical arrangement of two windows on each floor. The houses have raised quoining and a first-floor sill band. The doorways, located on the right and left, are round-headed and flanked by pilaster jambs, with moulded imposts, enriched keystones, and pilastered doorcases. Each door is a four-panel design with fanlights that have radiating glazing bars. The ground floor of each house features one large hornless 16-pane sash window, while the upper floor has two slightly smaller sash windows. All windows have quoined surrounds and moulded brackets for the sills. There are chimneys on both the front and rear slopes at the junction of the roofs. The rear and interior of the houses were not inspected. These houses form a group with Nos 32 and 34 to the left.
