Description
The Crows Nest Public House is a late 19th-century public house located on Victoria Road in Crosby. It has likely been constructed from brick, featuring green glazed tiling on the ground floor and roughcast render above. The building has a deep rectangular plan, consisting of a double-depth front range with a back extension. It stands three storeys high and has two windows, with a symmetrical façade. There are two bands between the first and second floors, accented by terminal pilasters, and a parapet with stone coping.
On the ground floor, there are two round-headed doorways flanking a pair of wide rectangular windows, all set within a tiled surround that includes dark green pilasters and light green panels, topped with a painted fascia and moulded cornice. This design continues around the left side of the building, where there is a doorway towards the rear flanked by windows. The first floor features tall 12-pane sashed windows with moulded architraves, plain friezes, and cornices beneath the lower band, along with a hanging inn-sign in the center. The second floor has square 12-pane sashed windows with plain surrounds. The building is topped with gable chimneys. The interior has not been inspected.
