Description
The northern gate to Flaybrick Hill Cemetery, built between 1862 and 1864 by Lucy and Littler, is constructed from coursed and squared stone and features cast-iron gates. The main gate has a separate side entry and is set within a wall that has raking coping. The main gateway is designed with a stilted arch supported by corbels, topped with a stepped gable that includes a quatrefoil at the apex. Although the gates are currently missing, the archway is partially blocked. To the left, there is a foot gate with a simpler moulded arch beneath a steep coped gable. The cast-iron gates are decorated with scrollwork. Between the two gates, there is a foliate niche intended for a fountain, which has an ornate triangular hood mould and an enriched corbel that supports a granite basin.
