Corner Cottage

Corner Cottage is a building that was originally a cow house and is now a house. It likely dates from the late 17th century and was altered in the 1830s by R.B. Rampling. The cottage features timber-frame cladding, likely over dressed stone, and has a tile roof, with the rear constructed of dressed stone. It is a single-storey building with four bays. Two of the windows have diamond-paned casements, while one is a 20th-century casement. The entrance, also from the 20th century, is located at the front. The rear of the cottage has three raking buttresses and an entrance accessed by stone steps. The right side of the building has a small projection that is believed to be a bread oven. There is a cross-axial stack and a small stack in the roof pitch. Inside, the cottage has an exposed cruck truss with a tie beam and principal rafters that include wind braces, and other trusses likely remain in the cross walls.
