Description
Banks Farmhouse is a house that dates back to 1702, as indicated by the datestone, and was renovated in the 1830s by R.B. Rampling. The building is constructed of stone and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and features three bays, with a two-storey, one-bay extension to the left and a one-storey, one-bay extension to the right. The farmhouse has a high base, a band above the ground floor, and a cornice, with coped gables on the first floor.
The windows are three-light, single-chamfered-mullioned types with small-paned casements, except for the left bay, which has two-light windows, and the right bay, which features horizontally sliding sashes. There is a two-light gabled half-dormer located between the second and third bays. The entrance is situated between the second and third bays and has a decorated lintel, with the date stone above it adorned with cornucopiae and oak leaves. The farmhouse includes a cross-axial stack and two gable-end stacks that have moulded bases and caps, while the right bay has a plain gable-end stack.
