No. 96 Caldy Road is a house dating from 1698, with a datestone reading "IB/1698". It was renovated in the 1830s by R. B. Rampling. The building is constructed of stone and has a slate roof. It is one storey with an attic and features three bays, with the central bay forming a two-storey gabled porch. The gables are coped and have kneelers. The windows are ovolo-mullioned with small-paned casements; the ground floor has three-light windows and one light in the porch, while the first floor has two-light gabled dormers and one light in the porch. The entrance is located to the left return of the porch and has a cambered head. The gable ends have projecting stacks with diagonal shafts. There is a plain wing at the rear, which runs along the street and has an inserted entrance and shop window. This building was once a public house and later served as a post office.
