Description

This is a house dating to around 1840, located on Fairview Road in Oxton, Birkenhead. It is constructed of lined stucco with a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate. The house has two storeys and was originally designed with a two-unit plan. A six-panelled front door is topped by a traceried fanlight and sits within an architrave featuring fluted Ionic pilasters. A slightly projecting squared bay window is on the left side, while a canted bay window with pilasters is on the right. The first floor has eight-pane windows, which are replacements but set within the original window openings. Chimneys are located on the end walls. The house's appearance is documented in a plan of Oxton from 1847.
