Description
No. 16 Fairview Road is a house built around 1840. It features roughly coursed rubble with a Welsh slate roof and stands two storeys tall. The building has a two-unit plan with a central entrance and an additional unit with a wing that extends to the right. The entrance consists of a four-panelled part-glazed door set in a rendered architrave. This is flanked on each floor by 16-pane sash windows, which have flat stone lintels above the lower windows and timber lintels above the upper ones. There is also a narrow 12-pane sash window situated above the doorway. The house has end wall stacks and the wing to the right includes a single sash window on each floor in its north elevation. The plan of the Township of Oxton in the Parish of Woodchurch from 1847 provides historical context for the building.
