Description
No. 14 Fairview Road is a house built around 1840, constructed of roughly coursed rubble with a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and a two-unit plan with a central entrance. Soon after its construction, an additional bay was added to the north. The entrance features a door set within a lattice-work porch topped by a leaded canopy. On each floor, the house is flanked by 12-pane sash windows that have brick jambs and flat stone lintels over the ground floor windows. There is a lower casement window with margin lights and a flat stone lintel above the doorway. The additional bay to the north also contains a single 12-pane sash window on each floor. Brick stacks are located on the original end walls. This house is noted in the Plan of the Township of Oxton in the Parish of Woodchurch from 1847.
