Description
This building consists of three houses located at 71-75 Bolton Road, constructed in 1898 by architects Douglas and Minshull. The houses are made of brick with a plaster first floor, featuring tile-hung gables adorned with fishscale bands and tile roofs. They are two storeys high and have three bays; the first two bays are gabled, while the second bay projects with a jettied first floor, and the third bay is recessed by one bay.
The windows include leaded casements, with the ground floor windows featuring gauged-brick cambered arches. The first bay has a four-light window, the third bay has a two-light window and an inserted three-light window, and the second bay boasts a six-light canted bay window with two-light windows on the left return. The first floor includes a four-light canted oriel window in the first bay with a tile canopy that sweeps out from the tile-hanging, a four-light window in the second bay, and a two-light window in the third bay. The entrances have stone lintels and three-panel doors with leaded lights. The building features a valley stack and a rear stack, with the returns of the building being similar to the first bay.
